  1. The Job: Bring an e-mobility line held under exclusive Hero MotoCorp Canadian distribution to market: research to launch to growth, inside a working retail and service business.
  2. Market and Customer: Who rides, what they pay, what breaks, what the seasons do to demand — research from the sales floor, not a slide deck.
  3. Positioning and Pricing: Product selection and localization: catalogues, specifications and pricing that hold up against landed cost and warranty reality.
  4. Channel: Supplier and dealer coordination — the unglamorous work that decides whether products actually arrive and get supported.
  5. Launch and Growth: After-sales processes to keep what was sold on the road, supporting roughly thirty percent year-on-year growth as a team result.

Hero MotoCorp Canadian Market Entry

Product Development and Service Manager

I owned the product and service side of bringing an e-mobility line — held under exclusive Hero MotoCorp Canadian distribution — into the market, from first research to after-sales.

Context

A Canadian dealership had secured exclusive distribution of a foreign e-mobility line. Exclusive rights mean nothing without market fit, localized product, defensible pricing, a working channel and after-sales — all of which had to be built.

My responsibility

Product Development and Service Manager.

What I did

  • Support for the exclusive Hero MotoCorp distribution arrangement
  • Market and customer research grounded in the sales floor
  • Product selection and localization for Canadian conditions
  • Catalogues, specifications and pricing against landed cost and warranty
  • Homologation and compliance work for the local market
  • Supplier and dealer / channel coordination
  • Launch support and after-sales process design
  • Financial planning for the product line

Technical scope

  • Product localization and specification adaptation
  • Homologation and compliance requirements
  • Service and diagnostic process setup for the new line

Commercial and operating scope

  • Pricing built against landed cost and warranty exposure
  • Catalogue, positioning and dealer / channel coordination
  • Financial planning; contribution to roughly 30% year-on-year business growth (a team result)

How the work ran

Research the market and customer, select and localize the product, price it honestly, clear homologation, build the channel, launch, then stand up the after-sales processes that keep it selling.

Outcome

A localized, priced and supported product line in a new market, with after-sales that kept it on the road and contributed to roughly 30% year-on-year growth.

Results

Exclusive
Hero MotoCorp Canadian distribution held by the dealership. I was responsible for product development and service for the line.
30%
Year-on-year growth of the business during my time supporting product and service. This was a team result I contributed to, not a solo outcome.
